We finally finished our nursery with only one week to spare! It feels so great to have this space together, clean and ready for baby boy. While I’ve always dreamt of my future nursery, when it came time to design this space I couldn’t make up my mind. We ended up painting the entire room FOUR times because apparently pregnancy turns me into a crazy person! We started with a warm white which felt too yellow, then a really cold white that leaned a little green to a blue that looked like a bar in Key West (not the look I am going for). Finally, I decided to color match Farrow & Ball (Dimpse) and I’m so happy with how it turned out! It’s simple, warm and a perfect backdrop for art and toys.
When it came time to choose a crib and bedding I knew that we wanted pieces that are high quality, beautiful and sustainable. The Parachute x Oeuf partnership collection immediately caught my eye. I couldn’t be happier with our Sparrow Crib from Oeuf as it has everything I was looking for and it can convert into a toddler bed with their Sparrow Toddler Bed Conversion Kit, extending the life of the piece which is a huge win in my book! For the bedding I choose the Linen Crib Sheet in white, Toddler Linen Quilt in Ochre and the Cashmere Baby Blanket in grey from Parachute Home. I really love how the colors and different textures of these pieces all work so well together. I also can’t stop imagining our newborn wrapped up in that cashmere baby blanket- how dreamy!!
I can’t even explain the amount of calm that seeing this space totally finished gives me! I’m sure it will evolve as we learn what he will need over the next couple of months, but for now it’s a happy cozy space that I feel proud and excited to bring him home to!
